QuantumRF
Quantum RF — officially branded QuantumRF® — is a revolutionary, minimally invasive skin-tightening treatment that delivers fractionated bipolar radiofrequency (FRF) energy deep beneath the skin. Unlike surface-level treatments, its lightweight cannula is inserted subdermally, reaching depths that stimulate collagen and contract soft tissue without the downtime of surgery.
Available in three cannula sizes — 10, 17, and 25 — QuantumRF delivers precision pulsed RF energy to the subdermal plexus without damaging the dermis, for shorter downtime, reduced risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and safer, more customizable procedures.

The QuantumRF device
QuantumRF is a handheld system made by InMode. Instead of treating the skin from the surface, the provider guides a thin cannula just under the skin and delivers pulsed bipolar radiofrequency energy to the tissue below the dermis. The heat makes that tissue contract and signals the body to build new collagen, so the skin tightens from within. InMode lists the device for dermatological and general surgical procedures where soft tissue contraction is needed, and says it can reach depths of up to 60 mm.
The skin surface is not the target. InMode says this design allows shorter downtime and a lower risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation than treatments that work from the top down. No surgical suite is needed, and the handpieces are light enough for a provider to work precisely.
Three handpieces, matched to the area
The device comes with three polymer-coated handpieces, numbered 10, 17 and 25. The number picks the cannula, so the provider can fit the treatment to your anatomy.

Who it suits
Most patients who ask about QuantumRF have loose skin that diet and exercise did not fix. That includes people who lost weight with GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide, where the fat comes off faster than the skin can follow. It is also used for early laxity along the jawline and neck.

How Does Quantum RF Skin Tightening Work?
While many non-surgical treatments can help destroy or remove fat cells, a common frustration for patients is that these treatments do not tighten loose or lax skin. Even without fat-removal procedures, it’s common for men and women to be left with loose skin around the abdomen or waistline after dieting or exercising effectively.
Historically, surgery was one of the only options for removing excess skin. While surgery continues to provide the most dramatic results, QuantumRF’s newer fractionated RF technology can help patients achieve moderate, meaningful skin tightening after weight loss — without going under the knife.
How Does QuantumRF Compare to Treatments Like CoolSculpting or Laser?
Truly nonsurgical treatments like laser skin treatments or CoolSculpting provide different results compared to QuantumRF. CoolSculpting works by freezing fat cells in a specific treatment area — this can decrease fat deposits, but it doesn’t tighten skin in that area. For this reason, the two treatments are often combined: CoolSculpting to reduce fat, QuantumRF to tighten the resulting loose skin.
Similarly, laser skin treatments primarily focus on resurfacing — decreasing the visibility of blemishes, lines, and wrinkles, and creating a more even skin tone and texture. But lasers aren’t as effective at tightening skin the way QuantumRF can, which is why many patients combine the two: lasers to reduce the visibility of stretch marks, QuantumRF to tighten the skin around them.
